The caulk materials were detected at greater than 0.1% Chrysotile Asbestos. Therefore, the removal of these window frames will require that the workers are AHERA Trained Asbestos Workers working for a California Licensed Asbestos Abatement Contractor. It is recommended that personal air monitoring be performed at all times that the window caulk material is being

Additional work for Asbestos Abatement is required to remove the windows in both locations of Building 29. The following requirements are provided by the Installation Industrial Hygienist to remove these windows:
The caulk materials were detected at greater than 0.1% Chrysotile Asbestos. Therefore, the removal of these window frames will require that the workers are AHERA Trained Asbestos Workers working for a California Licensed Asbestos Abatement Contractor. It is recommended that personal air monitoring be performed at all times that the window caulk material is being disturbed to verify that the workers are not exposed to greater than the OSHA permissible exposure level (PEL) of 1 fiber per cubic centimeter over and 8-hour time weighted average.
4. Building 201 will require the following window replacement.
• Building 201: The dimensions of the windows in Building 24 may vary in size; there are two (2) nominal sizes of windows, but even these windows are not exactly the same. • The window type for all of the specified locations will be tempered glass horizontal sliding windows with 1/8” thick double pane glass with a ½” air gap between each piece of glass. The overall width of ¾” double pane window will fit into aluminum framing. One side of each window will open to allow for air ventilation. AW rated glass with blast proof design will not be required in these standard work areas. The windows are identical to the windows shown in the pictures in Appendix A for Building 17 that were provided as a prototype specification (See Standard aluminum horizontal slider data sheet).
The only exception will be four (4) windows located in Building 24 that will be specified as fixed windows since these windows are located in overhead areas without access to open these windows.
