About this file

This is a question and answer document related to a state and local contract opportunity issued by the State of Maryland for the procurement of MacBook Air laptops and accessories (Solicitation SP270014). The contract calls for the acquisition of two 13-inch MacBook Air units with accessories and one 14.2-inch MacBook Air unit with accessories. Questions regarding product specifications were due by October 19, 2026.

The primary clarification sought by potential bidders concerned the acceptability of substitute manufacturers for two specified accessories: the Satechi Multiport Pro Adapter V2 with Ethernet and the Native Union Ultralight Sleeve for 13" and 14" MacBook models. The State of Maryland determined that only Apple-manufactured products would be accepted as alternatives, precluding the substitution of equivalent products from other manufacturers. Additionally, the State specified that the Native Union sleeve must be supplied in black, as this was the required color option rather than the alternative green option available from the manufacturer.
