About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a metal and glass door reframing installation project at the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Western Nevada Agency in Carson City, Nevada. The project involves removal, modification, and reframing of existing metal and glass door assemblies to meet updated design, safety, and functional requirements, with work ensuring compliance with applicable building codes, manufacturer specifications, and architectural drawings. The existing doors are beyond repair and do not meet ADA compliance requirements.
The contractor must provide all necessary labor, supervision, materials, equipment, and expertise for the reframing work. Key contractor responsibilities include conducting site verification to assess existing conditions and accessibility constraints, developing and maintaining a detailed project schedule with milestones, providing a single point of contact with authority to oversee operations, ensuring installation personnel are identifiable with contact information provided to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) at least three weeks prior to commencement, and maintaining daily checklists documenting progress and incidents. All work must comply with federal, state, and local building codes; technical specifications in the Furniture Standards Technical Page; Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS); and applicable safety and environmental standards including non-toxic adhesives. Installation procedures require coordination with the agency COR to minimize office disruption, protection of building assets using runners and pads, daily debris removal per federal and state regulations, and verification that all new door frames and doors are correctly installed, aligned, and functioning prior to final acceptance. Post-installation services include cleaning using non-toxic cleaners, coordinating waste disposal, preparing punch lists with deficiency corrections within ten working days, and submitting a signed statement of acceptance to the WRO Contracting Officer. The government will provide staging, assembly, and storage space while the contractor ensures a qualified project manager remains on-site with full authority.
