About this file
This is a Scope of Work document for the installation of fall arrest systems at the 139th Airlift Wing facility. The project requires the design, procurement, and installation of two overhead rigid rail fall arrest systems—one in the R11 Bay and one in the Fire Truck Bay. Each 25-foot long system must be engineered to simultaneously support a minimum of two users and comply with all applicable OSHA and ANSI Z359 standards for fall protection.
The contractor must perform a comprehensive structural analysis of the existing overhead roof structures in both bays to verify capacity, provide complete engineering drawings and design documentation for client approval prior to fabrication, and furnish all new materials and components meeting the approved specifications. Installation shall be turn-key and performed by a certified and experienced crew in accordance with approved engineering drawings and manufacturer's instructions, followed by site cleanup. Upon completion, a qualified person must inspect and load test both systems to certify them for use, with formal certification documentation provided to the client. The contractor must demonstrate fall protection expertise with qualified persons on staff possessing fall protection-specific regulatory knowledge, capable of performing both initial certification and 5-year re-certification. Additionally, the contractor must have the capability to provide ongoing annual inspection, recertification, and engineering design review services throughout the life of the systems to ensure continued compliance and safety.
