About this file
This is a Statement of Work for annual inspection and 5-year recertification of fall arrest systems at the Fuel Cell Hangar (Building 18) to be performed by Flexible Lifeline Systems.
The contractor must conduct a comprehensive annual inspection and Engineering Design Review (EDR) of six Beam & Trolley Fall Protection Systems and Self-Retracting Lifelines (System ID By FPS 7837) located in the hangar. The annual inspection requires a competent person to perform visual and physical examination of all system components to verify compliance with manufacturer requirements and ANSI Z359.2-2017 standards. Any equipment failing inspection must be immediately red-tagged and designated out of service, with options for removal, disposal, repair, or replacement reviewed by the contractor. The EDR, to be performed by a Qualified Professional Engineer, must thoroughly review the original system design through consultation with on-site competent persons and authorized users, evaluate changes in risks, hazards, or tasks since original installation, and assess changes in regulations and standards affecting the fall protection system. All work must comply with OSHA's General Duty Clause and ANSI standards Z359.2-2017 and Z359.6-2016. Deliverables include a Proof of Inspection Certificate, a full set of drawings and report detailing systems in compliance, identified deficiencies, and recommended repairs or remediation, and Qualified Professional Engineer stamped drawings/specifications with a 5-Year EDR Certification.
