About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a federal contract opportunity. The SOW outlines the requirements for two vessels to support the U.S. Coast Guard Maritime Security Response Team (MSRT) West's offshore training exercises. The vessels must meet specific criteria, including being classified as tugs, between 100-150 feet long with at least a 12x12 foot open deck space, capable of transiting a minimum of 25 nautical miles offshore, and allowing access for the MSRT team to conduct realistic training such as hook and climb insertions, close quarters combat with Simmunitions, CBRNE scenarios, and tactical combat casualty care. The training is scheduled for two sessions on November 7-8, 2024, with the vessels required to be located 10 nautical miles offshore from Point Loma, California. The related federal contract opportunity is a notice of intent to sole source the requirement to Pacific Maritime Group, as their vessel "DM Tapper & Ty Woods" meets all the specified criteria and is available during the required timeframe.

Protrusions or lips that run the length of the hull would result in hook and climb on the vessel being impractical and unsafe to climbers.
