The contractor must furnish and install a 2-inch diameter polyethylene (PE) water service line in a 500-foot coil configuration, along with associated appurtenances including a brass ball valve with ¼-turn handle and a polyethylene valve box with minimum dimensions of 21 inches length, 16 inches width, and 12 inches height.
The PE pipe material must meet specific standards: PE 4710 IPS DR 11 with a 200 psi pressure rating, manufactured to ASTM D2737 and AWWA C901 specifications. Acceptable fittings include non-flare compression type with stainless steel pipe stiffeners, heat-fused, or electro-fused options. Installation requirements include maintaining a 30-inch horizontal and 12-inch vertical separation between water and sewer lines, providing thrust blocking at all directional changes, and trench specifications requiring a minimum 30-inch depth to the pipe top with compacted backfill in specified lifts. All work must be performed Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with three business days' advance notice required. The contractor must provide a minimum one-year warranty covering materials and labor defects, visually inspect all connections for leaks in the presence of Project Oversight (Chris Houston, Engineering Technician, at 918-290-0985), and repair all leaks before backfilling.
