The overall goal is to modernize the aesthetics, improve energy and water efficiency, address localized wear and tear, and apply preventive sealant to extend the life of the floor tile.

Coordinate all work with USCG Contracting Officer’s Representative
(COR) or designated POC.
Task 2: Demolition, Prep Work, and Disposal

Removal: Carefully remove designated existing shower doors, faucets, toilet seats, old plumbing fixtures, and damaged wall/ceiling/flooring materials as specified per bathroom tier.
Disposal: Responsibly haul away and legally dispose of all construction debris, old fixtures, and packaging. Keep the job site clean and clear of hazards daily.
Task 3: Tile and Grout Repair, Replacement, and Sealing Tile Replacement: Inspect all wall and floor tiles. Remove and replace up to 75sqft of loose, cracked, or damaged tiles. Contractor must match existing tiles in color, size, and finish as closely as possible, utilizing client-approved matching stock.
Grout Repair & Regrouting: Rake out damaged, cracked, or mold-infested grout to a minimum depth of 1/8 inch (or half the depth of the tile, whichever is greater). If this method is not needed, discuss options with CG POC prior to work. This applies to the cleaning of the showers and floor pans.
Tile and Grout Sealing (Preservation): Thoroughly deep-clean and dry all existing and new tile/grout surfaces. Apply two (2) coats of professional-grade, breathable penetrating/impregnating sealer to all tiled walls and floors to protect against water penetration, staining, and mold growth. This applies to sealing the shower walls and floor pans.
Remove existing shower doors: Installation: Supply and install heavy-duty tempered glass shower doors (thickness, frame finish, and style to be finalized by CG POC. Waterproofing: Apply high-quality, mold-resistant 100% silicone sealant along all metal-to-surface boundaries to guarantee a completely watertight seal.
Plumbing Fixtures: Toilet Seats: Replace existing seats with new, commercial-grade, slow-close, ergonomic, solid plastic toilet seats matching the existing toilet bowls (elongated or round-front). Replace vanity faucets, showerheads, with water-efficient (Water Sense certified) options. Install goose necks in all showers to provide more height and install faucets with longer necks to better wash hands.
Replace p-traps where necessary and install insulated covers to prevent condensation.
Electrical & LED Lighting: Remove existing outdated light fixtures in showers and dressing areas and in the overhead. Leave all lighting above the sinks. Install energy-efficient LED vanity lights or wet-rated LED recessed downlights (minimum 90+ CRI, color temperature to be selected by Client, recommended 3000K–4000K).
Patching, Painting, and Drywall Repair: Patch all drywall holes, dents, cracks, and moisture-damaged areas (using moisture-resistant greenboard where replacements are required). Sand smooth.
