HEAVY WEIGHT SHOCK TESTING
STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)
1.0 BACKGROUND
The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division requires heavy weight shock testing for a single asset to meet Grade A/B shock.
2.0 APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
2.1 MIL-DTL-901E; Shock Tests, H.I. (High-Impact) Shipboard Machinery, Equipment, and Systems, Requirements for 20 June 2017
3.0 REQUIREMENTS
3.1 The Contractor shall provide all labor and required materials in order to conduct a heavyweight shock test in accordance with MIL-DTL-901E for the Government Furnished Equipment/Materials (GFE/M) listed in Section 4 of this SOW.
3.2 The Contractor shall coordinate a Test Readiness Review (TRR) in order to review test and safety requirements with the technical point of contact (TPOC) identified below.
3.3 The Contractor shall fabricate a Test Fixture to interface the Unit Under Test (UUT) to the Extended Floating Shock Platform (EFSP) in accordance with the approved Test Fixture and Barge Layout Drawing.
3.4 The Contractor shall receive, unpack/uncrate, inspect, inventory, and stage the UUT and support equipment in preparation for installation and testing.
3.5 The Contractor shall prepare the Deck Simulating Fixture (DSF)/EFSP for UUT/Test Fixture Assembly installation.
3.5.1 The Contractor shall install UUT/Test Fixture Assembly in accordance with the approved Test Fixture Design and Barge Layout Drawing.
3.5.2 The Contractor shall include tuning the DSF for 8 Hz testing.
3.5.3 The Contractor shall provide house power (110-480 Volts Alternating Current (VAC)) as required to energize and operate the UUT.
3.5.4 The Contractor shall provide, install, monitor, and record two (2) Control Accelerometers on the EFSP during the test series to monitor test geometries.
3.5.5 The Contractor shall provide, install, monitor, and record nine (9) Accelerometers on the UUT to measure response.
3.5.6 The Contractor shall conduct up to a three (3)-Shot, 8 Hertz (Hz) Heavyweight Shock Test Series in accordance with MIL-DTL-901E and the approved Test Procedure.
3.6 The Contractor shall price conducting up to four (4)-additional shots, 25 Hz Heavyweight Shock Test Series in accordance with MIL-DTL-901E and the approved Test Procedure. This test is
