All pull boxes and antenna components, coax cables, connectors and power cables will be provided by the FAA. The contractor must pick up all items from a FAA storage area nearby and transport them to the job site. The location of the antenna foundations and trenching rout is shown on the attached sketch but the exact locations shall be field determined.
The project includes but it is not limited to following:

The exact location of the foundations must be field determined.
mailto:michael.kwong@faa.gov
• Saw cut concrete slab, an asphalt paving from the building to the pull box as shown on the project sketch.
• Excavate a trench 9’x9’, 24’ deep and install a concrete foundation for each antenna system, Refer to the attached Sketches for the concrete foundation and drawing CD-D-7778 for detail information for the antenna foundation and mast installations. The antenna masts shall be aligned in north-south track and in direction of each other.
• Excavate and install 3 pull boxes.
• Provide and install Polyethylene – PVC Conduit to AS/NZS 2053 Heavy duty conduits for underground cables by Horizontal Directional Drilling. The conduits shall be 1-1/2” for the power and 4” for the RF cables. The conduits must be extended to the power panel and equipment racks inside the equipment room. The point of access into the equipment room will be field determined.
**See note below.
• Install and assemble the antenna system.
• Provide and install lightning protection systems, consists of 30” long x ½” blunt tip, nickel plated air terminal and adapter, 7/16” braded cooper wire down conductor & fasteners. In addition provide and install ground counterpoise around the antenna mast including four (4) ½” cooper ground rods 10’ long at the corners of the platform and connected to #4/O cooper conductors. All conductors must be exothermically welded to the ground rods.
• Install RF and power cables from equipment room to the antenna masts. Final termination of the RF cables ends and power cable at the power panel will be terminated by the FAA.
• Provide and install lightning terminal at the top of the mast and down conductor to grounding counterpoise. Install Lightning conductor outside antenna mast.
• Install new obstruction lights and connect the circuit to the power disconnect circuit breaker inside the equipment room.
