Text version
The proposed effort encompasses new finite element analysis on the Vertical Linear Accelerator, a one of a kind device created for NAMRU-Dayton as part of a Small Business Innovative Research topic. This detailed engineering documentation was not provided as part of the original contract and interest in an expanded operating envelop requires the additional ranges be tested and reports delivered to NAMRU-Dayton engineering.
Statement of Work (SOW)
Task 1. DSM will setup a VLA FEA model. This effort is required before additional FEA can be performed on the VLA.
Task 2. DSM will perform FEA to determine the maximum operational frequency of the VLA. Once the FEA setup effort is compete, DSM will run the FEA simulation at various carriage heights on the VLA. Executing this effort requires completion of the Setup FEA effort (Task 1).
Task 3. DSM will perform VLA design and FEA to determine the best method of increasing the operational frequency of the VLA. Executing this effort requires completion of the FEA setup and frequency FEA efforts (Task 1 and 2).
Information
Described in deliverables below. For more detail, see DSM quotes.
Deliverables
The contractor will provide the following deliverables (services and deliverables):
1. Task 1:
▪ FEA setup files
▪ Reporting the FEA setup conditions to NAMRU-Dayton program staff
2. Task 2:
· FEA setup files
· Report including the recommended max operational frequency for the carriage heights of interest
3. Task 3:
· FEA setup files
· Report the recommended VLA design changes and the updated max operational frequency expected from the updated VLA design
Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP)
1. NAMRU-D personnel will review and test the FEA products as they are delivered.
2. NAMRU-D personnel will arrange for base access, NAMRU-D facility clearance and surveillance during the period of performance, if required.
