About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) describes a procurement for oils and greases by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) for its Eastern and Western Currency Facilities. The procurement will be conducted through a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to replace consumable spare parts used to clean and lubricate numbering blocks on COPE, LEPE, and NS-LEPE printing presses. The specific requirement is for 25 55-gallon drums of OIL1100 - ISOSOLV LOW VOC WIPE for use on COPE presses, to be delivered to the Eastern Currency Facility.

The contract covers five one-year ordering periods from January 28, 2026 to January 27, 2031, with delivery expected within 60 days after contract award. The BEP aims to improve manufacturing efficiency by establishing a consistent supply of these critical maintenance materials, reducing procurement processing time and preventing stock-outs. Potential vendors will need to provide quotes including quantities, current list prices, and lead times for delivery to the BEP locations in Washington, D.C. and Fort Worth, TX.

STATEMENT OF WORK

Oils and Greases BPA Procurement

1.0 BACKGROUND

1.1 The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) develops and produces United States currency notes, trusted worldwide. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing needs to maintain a calculated quantity of spare, repair and supporting parts in our storerooms located in Washington, D.C. These important readily available parts help support the manufacturing process in providing high quality print products of which the primary is United States Currency.

2.0 PURPOSE

2.1 Product, Service or Outcome Needed.

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), at both the Eastern Currency Facility (ECF) and the Western Currency Facility (WCF) has a requirement to replace consumable spare parts such as Oils, and Greases using a BPA. The Oils and Greases are used to clean and lubricate numbering blocks used in COPE, LEPE, & NS-LEPE. After a set number of prints operations stopped and the numbering blocks are properly maintained for quality currency prints. The individual ordering of these items lead to repeated stock outs and lessened product quality/repeatability goals. Purchasing these consumable spare parts using the IDIQ/BPA method will support currency manufacturing goals for the next 5 years by improving efficiency with decreased procurement processing time.
