Statement of Work (SOW) for the
662-22-702 EHRM NextGen Wi-Fi Upgrades Final AP Installation
1.0 General
1.1 Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is currently implementing the Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) nationally. This effort includes the upgrading to next generation Wi-Fi communications at the Fort Miley and off-site locations to include, Mission Bay Research and Santa Rosa CBOC.
1.2 Objective
Complete sixteen (16) Wi-Fi access point (AP) installations in three (3) different locations.
1.3 Scope of Work
The contractor will be required to provide all equipment, materials, labor, and permitting to execute this action. Safe work practices in accordance with OSHA 1926 and CAL/OSHA standards are essential, and competency must be demonstrated.
Installations Above Fixed Ceilings In general, places of limited access due to hard ceilings require the installation of double-gang junction boxes flush with ceiling that are then connected to ¾” EMC conduit in plenum space extending to an adjacent common pathway, most commonly a corridor. Conduit runs vary roughly from 5’ to 25’ with an average run of 10’.
Approximately 50% of these runs will require bends and not more than three such runs will require multiple bends. Penetrations are to be sealed in accordance with National Fire Protection Association standards where barriers exist.
Core Drilling Several locations require drilling and sleeving of 2” cores to accommodate pathways.
Means and methods may reduce requirement.
Cabling Installation Locations (16 total) identified below require Green CAT 6A Ethernet cabling pulled from the indicated Wiring Closet/Server Room to the AP location in the identified Room.
Cables will be pulled in existing or newly constructed pathways and utilize cable trays or j-hooks for suspension in plenum spaces. In suspended ceilings, a 5-foot Cat6A cable service length terminated with a RJ45 socket for the AP side connection between the fixed cable and the AP. Server Room side provide a 10’ service length terminated with a
RJ45 socket for final installation. Use wiring standard T568A. Average run length of 250’ is considered adequate.
New cable installed as part of the project is required to be tested and certified by a 3rd party vendor that the installation meets manufacture specifications. A report shall be provided to the VA detailing what was tested, and the results of each test. After completion of testing, all cables shall be labeled and identified.
1.4 Period of Performance
The period of performance of this contract is twenty-one (21) calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.
