About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details medical equipment and supplies procurement for the Indian Health Service Mid-Atlantic Service Unit (MASU), specifically for the Mid-Atlantic Tribal Health Center (MATHC) in Charles City, Virginia. The comprehensive procurement includes over 100 line items ranging from medical diagnostic equipment (EKG machines, bladder scanners, vitals machines) to medical supplies (gloves, bandages, catheters, syringes) and clinical furnishings (exam chairs, scales, sharps containers). The contract is for a six-month performance period from February 1, 2025 to July 31, 2025, with delivery requirements to the MATHC facility at 2401 Roxbury Road, Charles City, VA, serving seven federally recognized tribes in Virginia. The solicitation (Number 285-25-RFQ-0023) seeks a contractor to fully equip a new 25,000 square foot health center that will provide primary care, behavioral health, dental, and dietary services to native populations in central Virginia, with the contractor responsible for ensuring all equipment is delivered undamaged and meeting brand name or equivalent specifications.

Mid-Atlantic Service Unit

MASU Medical Equipment and supplies

Statement of Work for the Medical Equipment and supplies

November 25, 2024

Statement of Work (SOW) for the MASU Medical Equipment and supplies

1.0 General

1.1 Background

The mission of the Indian Health Service (IHS) is to raise the physical, mental, social, and spiritual health of American Indians and Alaska Natives to the highest level. Our Vision is for healthy communities and quality health care systems through strong partnerships and culturally responsive practices.

The Nashville Area is the most geographically and culturally diverse Area within IHS. This poses unique challenges to our staff and requires the use of creativity, flexibility, and understanding in accomplishing our mission. The Mid-Atlantic Service (MASU) was founded in 2019 after seven tribes in the Commonwealth of Virginia received federal recognition.

The Mid-Atlantic Service Unit serves the Pamunkey, Chickahominy, Eastern Chickahominy, Monacan, Nansemond, Rappahannock, and Upper Mattaponi tribes. Currently, there is a brick and mortar clinic built. In order for the clinic to be fully operational, medical equipment and supplies are required to perform primary care services.

1.2 Objective

The MATHC is a 25,000 square foot facility that will serve the primary care, behavioral health, dental, and dietary needs of the native populations in central Virginia. In order for the health center to serve the primary care needs of the native populations, medical equipment and supplies is critical. Without the proper equipment and supplies, the community will not receive direct care from the MATHC.
