The contract covers seven generators located at the R. W. Harned Building and Poultry Research Unit, including models from Cummins, Briggs & Stratton, Detroit Diesel, On Site Energy, and Generac. The five-year option year contract will run from 08/01/25 to 07/31/30, with the primary objective of ensuring all standby generators are operational and ready to provide power during utility failures, which is critical for ongoing research at the poultry research facilities.
The contractor will be responsible for comprehensive maintenance, including annual basic services and full services every third year. Tasks include system testing, oil and filter changes, coolant testing, electrical and control system checks, and component replacements. The contract requires a 2-hour maximum response time for emergency services, and the contractor must submit a site-specific safety plan. Generators are located at 150 Twelve Lane, MS State, MS 39762 and 606 Spring Street, Starkville, MS 39759.
