About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the requirements for upgrading software on two Hexagon Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) used for critical component inspections at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division. The project involves updating decade-old software to restore full functionality of precision measurement equipment, with a focus on enabling accurate inspections of man-rated and ordnance components for the Navy and NATO. The contractor must employ qualified technicians, possess necessary installation equipment, and adhere to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17025 standards.

The Navy intends to sole-source this contract to Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence for a firm fixed-price agreement, with a performance period of 60 days from contract execution. The solicitation (N00174-25-SIMACQ-MP-0026) is not a request for quotes, but interested parties may submit capability statements by June 6, 2025, at 10 AM EST. The contract is being pursued under FAR 13.106(b) with NAICS code 541519, targeting a single-source procurement based on Hexagon's unique ability to meet the government's specific software update and installation requirements.

Statement of Work:

Hexagon Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Software Update 5/2/2025

1.0 INTRODUCTION

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the requirements for upgrading and maintaining the software programming on 2 Hexagon Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)s, critical assets utilized in the inspection of incoming components for the manufacture of man-rated and other ordnance for the Navy and NATO counterparts. The CMMs are operating on software that is almost a decade old, and this is inhibiting necessary inspections which more modern technology enables. Alternate inspection techniques are inferior and labor-intensive. The CMMs play a vital role in quality control and ensuring the integrity of manufactured components. Inability to conduct critical inspections on man-rated components impacts production, potentially grounding airplanes.
