About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a helium jacket assembly for a Nb3Sn-coated superconducting cavity, issued by Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in collaboration with Argonne National Laboratory's Accelerator Development Group. The SOW requires fabrication of one helium vessel assembly with specific technical specifications, including ASME U Stamp certification, 304L stainless steel construction, temperature range of 4K to 396K, and pressure tolerances of 15 PSID external and 40 PSID internal.
The deliverables include a helium jacket assembly with a main vessel, four flanges (two large top/bottom and two side port flanges), and comprehensive documentation in PDF format. The vendor must provide welder qualifications, quality assurance plan, material certifications, as-built drawings, non-conformance documentation, and acceptance test results. The delivery timeline is 26 weeks from order receipt, with payment contingent upon successful delivery and a leak check at 1.0 x 10-9 sccm He/sec, to be completed at either Argonne or Fermilab. The project supports the development of next-generation particle accelerator technology for electron and ion accelerators.

Scope of Work
Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory is working with the Accelerator Development Group in the Physics Division at Argonne National Laboratory to develop transformative particle accelerator technology based on thin film Nb3Sn-coated superconducting cavities for the next generation of electron and ion accelerators. As an early demonstration of this technology in a DOE national user facility, we plan to install a Nb3Sn-coated cavity into ATLAS. The cavity is presently a bare, ‘unjacked’ cavity and requires a helium vessel.

Schedule
Delivery shall occur within a lead time of 26 weeks starting upon receipt of order. Any delays shall be communicated to ANL as soon as they are apparent to vendor.
Payment Schedule
The vendor will be paid within 60 days of delivery and upon a successful leak check at 1.0 x 10-9 sccm He/sec at Argonne or Fermilab.
Special Instructions
1. Documentation should include:
a. Assembly drawings and schematics
b. Factory Acceptance Testing Report as outlined in the Quality Assurance Requirements section of this document.
Protection of Materials and Equipment During Shipment
1. Each system must be packed and crated appropriately for delivery to Argonne.
2. For shipments of multiple systems, each system must be easy to identify and separate without unpacking.
a. Items should be packed according to a packing list in clearly labelled crate(s).
