The contractor must comply with FP14 (Standard Specifications for Construction of Roads and Bridges on Federal Highway Projects), Section 634 for permanent pavement markings. The BIA will provide onsite personnel for traffic control and technical assistance, mark non-visible transitions prior to mobilization, and conduct daily quantity comparisons with the contractor.

Statement of Work
The Contractor will retrace the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Fort Defiance Agency - Branch of
Transportation (BIA, FDA-BOT) permanent pavement markings and re-mark the existing permanent pavement markings on paved BIA routes N6, N15, N9010, N54, and N12 (4 Lane) within the FDA-BOT Road Inventory. The maintenance activity consists of the Contractor utilizing and placing Retroreflectorized Waterborne Paint marking, Type B marking with Type I glass beads. The quantities for each BIA Routes are identified by the total lengths in feet for each solid yellow lines, solid white lines, broken yellow lines, and broken white lines.
Contractor's Responsibility
The Contractor shall mobilize to the project sites with personnel and equipment furnished by the contractor to perform the necessary work. The mobilization shall include travel costs for the personnel.
The Contractor shall place a 4 inch wide striping of each type for BIA Routes idenfied within the Fort
Defiance Agency. The total estimated quantities for the Contractor to stripe for FDA-BOT is attached. The Contractor shall refer to FP14 (Standard Specifications for Construction of Roads and
Bridges on Federal Highway Projects), Section 634 - Permanent Pavement Markings for this maintenance activity.
The Contractor is responsible for providing accurate field quantities at the time of each completed route. The contractor must use an air compressor or a kick broom to clean the pavement surface prior to application. The contractor also shall clear and remove all debris in the striping path prior to pavement markings application. The use of a follow truck with beacons with wet paint and keep off paint signs shall be utilized at all times during the striping operation.
The Contractor is responsible for obtaining a storage area or yard to store their equipment and materials during the work.
The Contractor shall be responsible to remove spills and clean outs at their own expense.
The Contractor shall be responsible for any costs related to equipment and labor stand-by.
The Contractor shall be responsible for any damages made to existing structures and replace at their own expense.
Bureau of Indian Affair's Responsibility
The BIA personnel will be onsite at all times to assist with traffic control and provide technical assistance.
The BIA will mark all non-visible transitions with pavement marking paint prior to mobilization.
The BIA will compare quantities with the Contractor on a daily basis for accuracy.
