About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details a fiber optic and audio-visual (A/V) cabling installation project for a building at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts. The project requires installing Fiber-to-the-Desk (FTTD) and A/V cables to connect video teleconferencing systems in two conference rooms on the second floor, with a 90-calendar day period of performance. Key technical requirements include using OM4 50/125 μm multi-mode fiber optic cables with red jackets, installing an 8-strand fiber cable between the intermediate distribution frame (IDF) and data drops, and terminating each strand in 4-port surface-mounted boxes with LC connectors.

The contractor must meet extensive specifications, including using Optical Fiber® certified installers, ensuring Trade Act Agreement compliance, and performing comprehensive testing in accordance with multiple telecommunications standards (TIA-568.1, TIA-568.2, TIA-568.3). Submittal requirements include material cut sheets, personnel qualifications, telecommunications drawings, factory reel tests, performance testing, maintenance documentation, warranty information, and as-built drawings. The project involves multiple meetings, including a virtual kickoff within 5 working days of contract award, bi-weekly progress meetings before cable installation, and weekly meetings during installation, culminating in pre-final and final on-site inspections.
