About this file

This document is a Scope of Work (SOW) for brick paver maintenance and repair for the City of Fort Myers, Florida. The project encompasses maintenance and new installation of brick pavers in downtown Fort Myers, specifically in the area between Edwards Dr. and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., and between Fowler St. and Monroe St. Work includes pressure washing, repairing and straightening loose pavers, replacing broken pavers, regrading sunken areas, and installing new pavers in roadways and sidewalks. Each roadway repair location is limited to a 24-hour closure, with partial road closures potentially permitted at the City's discretion. The City will provide traffic control devices, and the contractor must submit a Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plan for review and approval.

The project requires precise technical specifications for paver installation, including excavation depths of 12" for roadways and 10" for sidewalks, compaction requirements, limerock road base installation, and specific paver and polymeric sand installation techniques. The contractor must use City-approved hydrant meters for water usage and follow City of Fort Myers Design standards from September 2004. Pavers will be replaced using city stock or contractor-furnished materials that meet project specifications. The work involves meticulous site preparation, including subgrade compaction, base installation, and precise paver placement with appropriate joint sanding and compaction. The entire project area must be cleaned upon completion, with careful attention to maintaining the aesthetic and structural integrity of the downtown Fort Myers brick paver infrastructure.
