About this file
This is a Statement of Work for preventive maintenance services on two Generac MDG250DF4 Emergency Diesel Generators (EDGs) at Norfolk Naval Shipyard's Centralized Pier-Side Pretreatment Unit (CPPU) facility.
The contractor shall perform quarterly, annual, biennial, and triennial preventive maintenance on two portable generator units (Serial Nos. 3015039449 and 3003891323) based on time intervals rather than operational hours. Quarterly maintenance includes pre-operation and operational inspections covering engine oil, coolant, fuel, filters, battery, belts, mounts, and electrical connections. Annual maintenance requires oil and filter changes, DEF replacement, coolant checks, fuel filter replacement, and cooling system pressure testing. Biennial maintenance involves changing the OCV filter. Triennial maintenance includes valve clearance adjustments, glow plug testing, DEF dosing unit filter changes, cooling system flush and refill with thermostat replacement, alternator/fan belt replacement, axle and jack greasing, and battery replacement. The base year requires performance of all maintenance types (T, B, A, and Q) in Quarter 1, followed by quarterly maintenance only in Quarters 2–4. Option years follow similar patterns with varying combinations of maintenance levels. The contractor must deliver individual PM reports within one week of service completion, including engine oil analysis, engine coolant analysis, load testing results, and generator megger testing. All work must comply with the Generac Owner's Manual and OEM requirements, with operational checks limited to unloaded runtimes per EDG specifications. The contractor is responsible for waste disposal, quality assurance sign-off, facility coordination with two weeks' advance notice, and obtaining DBIDS security clearance and CIA access. Work is performed at the CPPU storage area (primary) or Building 298 Code 900F dry dock area (secondary) during normal working hours (0730–1600, Monday–Friday, excluding federal holidays).
