About this file
This is a Statement of Work for the procurement of aluminum grating materials to support construction of protective shrouds at NASA-Stennis Space Center.
The procurement requires 16 pieces of smooth surface aluminum grating with the following specifications: material Aluminum 6063-T52 or equivalent, 3/16-inch-thick rectangular bearing bars, 1 inch height, 3 feet section width, and 24 feet section length. The grating will be fabricated and installed as protective shrouds on top of the SSC High Pressure Gas Facility Vaporizer fans to provide property and personnel protection in the event of mechanical fan failure that could send uncontrolled projectiles into surrounding areas. This protective construction was initiated following a recent vaporizer failure. The materials must be delivered to NASA-Stennis Space Center, Building 9165 – SSC Weld Shop, Stennis Space Center, MS 39529. The document emphasizes an expedited schedule, stating that the grating material is required as soon as possible due to the pressing nature of the construction timeline and the vaporizers' constant, intermittent operational status supporting the test complex.

STATEMENT OF WORK – Smooth Grating
1. Objective Procure Quantity 16 pieces of 3/16” thick x 1” height x 3 feet wide x 24 feet long, smooth surface aluminum grating. More details:
Material – Aluminum 6063-T52 or equivalent 3/16-inch-thick rectangular bearing bars 1 inch height 3 feet section width 24 feet section length SMOOTH surface grating required
This grating is being used to fabricate and install protective shrouds on the top of the SSC High
Pressure Gas Facility Vaporizer fans. The shrouds are being built to enable property and personnel protection in the event that one of the vaporizer fans experiences a mechanical failure and breakdown, sending uncontrolled projectiles into the surrounding area. One of the vaporizers recently experienced this type of failure, thus the need for this construction, and the grating sought to be purchased via this SAT. These vaporizers are in constant, intermittent operation at the gas house to support the test complex. Therefore, the schedule required to complete this construction is pressing. the grating material on this SAT is required as soon as possible.
2. Ship to NASA-Stennis Space Center Building 9165 – SSC Weld Shop Stennis Space Center, MS 39529
