About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) describes a telecommunications infrastructure project for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service at Bears Bluff National Fish Hatchery in Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina. The project involves installing approximately 750 linear feet of multimode full duplex fiber optic communications cable underground between the Office Building and Laboratory Building using directional boring with minimal trenching. The contractor must locate and flag the existing direct-burial copper communications cable, install new fiber optic cable in conduit, terminate wiring with new termination boxes, and ensure the installation supports a minimum of 1 Gbps ethernet speed.
The contractor is responsible for determining cable specifications based on site requirements, providing and installing new paneling and wiring, testing cable functionality, and disposing of any resulting trash. Work must comply with local, state, and federal code requirements, and the contractor must adhere to station rules including restrictions on fishing, swimming, and weekend work. The on-site point of contact is James Henne, and the site location is 7030 Bears Bluff Rd, Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina. Contractors must record measurements and photos during their site visit and note any deviations from the SOW in their quote.
