About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) Amendment 3 for the Bears Bluff NFH Underground Communications Line Replacement project (Solicitation # 140FGA25Q0063). The Q&A provides technical specifications and clarifications for the fiber optic communication line installation, including requirements for duct size (minimum 1.25-inch non-metallic), fiber type (6 strand OM4 multimode), and termination (LC connectors).
Key additional details include a 24-inch minimum burial depth for conduit, with potential deeper installation to avoid underground utilities, and the requirement for handholes within 50 feet of each building. The Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) will provide the network switches. No specific brand requirements exist for materials, and no permitting is needed since the work is on private property. The document includes four reference images showing the start and end points of the communication line installation, including interior equipment rooms and exterior building views.
