About this file

This Statement of Work (SoW) details the replacement of a tank sump for an R-11 fuel truck (registration number 08L00022) for the 20th Logistics Readiness Squadron. The contractor is required to perform internal tank atmosphere testing, remove the existing tank sump, and fabricate a new sump using designer-specified aluminum alloy with exact dimensions and welding specifications matching the original tank data plate. Key requirements include carefully removing the old sump without damaging the tank body, welding the new sump using specified filler metal, painting the replaced area, and remounting the tank to the fuel truck while ensuring all connections and electrical functions are properly restored.

The scope of work mandates adherence to DOT 406 specifications and the original tank manufacturer's design standards. The government will transport the R-11 fuel truck to the contractor's facility within a 400-mile radius of Shaw Air Force Base and return it after completion. Upon finishing the sump replacement, the contractor must make the vehicle available for government inspection. The Statement of Work includes reference photos from a previous tank sump replacement to guide the replacement process, with specific attention to maintaining the original tank's technical specifications and functional integrity.
