The MCRC operates approximately 883 data drop ports throughout the James Wesley Marsh Building, with a significant number currently non-operational or marginally operational. The contractor shall provide all labor, tools, equipment, and materials to repair, replace, and certify existing Category 6 (CAT6) telecommunications infrastructure at Work Area Outlet (WAO) sites to restore reliable voice and data connectivity.
The scope of work includes remediation of 166 failed or marginal network ports through repair, replacement, or re-termination of CAT6 jacks and ports at both user-end outlets and telecommunications room patch panels; repair or re-run of approximately 18 missing CAT6 cables that were cut during cubicle reconfigurations; bonding of all equipment and ladder racks to grounding systems in both telecommunications rooms; and installation of correctly sized bezels in cubicle cutouts. The contractor must validate all remediated connections by ensuring proper CAT6 termination at both ends, verifying end-to-end continuity, and certifying that all repaired cables pass standard CAT6 performance testing standards. Deliverables include a summary of work performed, restoration of 166 fully functional CAT6 ports, repair or re-run of 18 cables, and certified test results documenting compliance. The period of performance begins upon award and concludes upon completion of all work within a mutually agreed timeframe.
