About this file

This document is a Performance Work Statement (PWS) for the procurement of a CNC Mill for the DLA Product Test Center Division, Mechanical Lab in Columbus, Ohio. The objective is to acquire a programmable CNC Mill that will improve the lab's testing capabilities by enabling the creation of custom fixturing for irregular parts. The CNC Mill will be used to reduce inspection time, improve turnaround, and replace a non-functioning CNC Mill currently occupying space in the machine shop.

The PWS outlines the requirements for the CNC Mill, including that it must be new, easily programmable, powered by 208-240 VAC 3 phase power, have coolant capability, power drawbar or tool mounting mechanism, a spindle taper of -40, and programmable spindle control. The required minimum axis travel is 31" x 17" x 19", and the work piece capacity must be 1200 lbs or more. The CNC Mill is to be delivered, installed, and training provided on-site at the DLA Product Test Center in Columbus, Ohio.
