The work of this contract also includes construction and installation of a rear storage box, hence known as Rear Box, to haul SAR equipment. Both the Truck and Rear Box shall be outfitted with emergency lights and markings.

D. Mission Requirements. This Truck will be used by the NPS SAR team at Arches and
Canyonlands National Parks to haul rescuers and equipment to the scene of wilderness SAR operations. The Truck is a 4-door crew cab. It will need to transport a driver and up to four rescuers (5 people total) in the cab. The Rear Box will be used to haul rescue equipment to the scene of an incident. This equipment includes a wheeled litter, ropes, medical equipment, helmets, camping equipment, extra food and water, batteries, radios, rescuer packs, and similar equipment. Most of the time the vehicle will be driving on paved roads, however, from time to time the vehicle will travel on rough dirt roads requiring high clearance four-wheel drive.
E. Qualifications. The Builder must have been in business for at least 3 years with experience building similar vehicles.
