About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for removing an existing asphalt shingle roof and installing a new metal roof on a 26'x32' ASR (Airport Surveillance Radar) storage building located at 276 Hildreth St, North Bangor, ME, adjacent to Bangor International Airport. The building has a gable roof with approximately 5/12 pitch, and the existing asphalt shingle roof installed around 2010 needs replacement.
The work includes demolition of existing roofing, installation of new synthetic underlayment with ice/water shield on the bottom 3' perimeter, and installation of 26-gauge steel hidden fastener standing seam metal panels (16" wide) with Kynar-PVDF finish. The contractor must also replace an existing steel entrance door (36"x80") with a new insulated 6-panel door. All work must be coordinated with the COR since the site contains critical radar and communication systems, though the storage building itself doesn't house operational equipment. The contractor must be escorted by FAA personnel at all times, work during normal hours (Monday-Friday 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM), and follow Davis-Bacon wage rates. A site visit is scheduled for February 19, 2025 at 0900 EST.
