About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details a construction project for replacing steam boilers and relocating electrical equipment at the United States Disciplinary Barracks (USDB) Prison located at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The project involves comprehensive mechanical and electrical work, including demolishing and replacing an existing 300 HP steam boiler system, three vertical steam boilers, associated piping, and electrical panels, with a total estimated project value between $500,000 and $1,000,000.
The mechanical scope includes installing a new boiler skid with specifications like 6800 MBH capacity, 150 PSIG, natural gas firing, economizers, a deaerator tank, and compatibility with Fort Leavenworth's Automated Logic Controls system. The electrical work encompasses disconnecting and replacing three electrical panels (one 150A MCB and two 600A MLO) and a 45 kVA transformer, with all new equipment being NEMA 4X stainless steel rated to withstand steam exposure. The project requires extensive coordination, utility locates, quality control reporting, and adherence to multiple federal and safety standards, with work to be performed during standard military installation hours, Monday through Friday, excluding specified legal holidays.
