About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for NASA Glenn Research Center outlining requirements for solenoid valve development and testing to support pressure regulation systems for in-space vehicles.
The contractor must manufacture, functionally test, and deliver two (2) MV130X solenoid valves modified with PTFE or equivalent MAPTIS A-rated materials to replace Vespel seals for hypergolic exposure compatibility. The valves must be capable of operating at high pressures (6000 psi) and high flow demands (25 to 120 g/s of gaseous helium) over hundreds of valve cycles. The contractor shall provide relevant information from the "as-run" acceptance test procedure for each valve and develop a plan for the MFV400 regulator addressing recommendation #1 from NESC-TI-20-01535. Quality requirements follow standard vendor processes. Deliverables must be shipped to Jennifer Gratz at NASA Glenn Research Center, Room 86-319, 21000 Brookpark Road, Cleveland, OH 44135 (Desk: 216-433-2720). The solenoid valves with associated paperwork must be delivered before October 30, 2026, to support NASA testing in fall 2026, and the development plan must be delivered before December 31, 2026. The work emphasizes timely completion to align with NASA's testing schedule.

STATEMENT OF WORK
1. Objective/Requirements
Bang-bang pressure regulation is a challenge at high pressures (6000 psi) and high demands (25 g/s to 120 g/s of gaseous helium) over hundreds of valve cycles. Solenoid valves are required for this application and NASA is evaluating whether currently available hardware is able to support a regulation system for an in-space vehicle.
2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs
The contractor shall perform the following duties:
• Manufacture, functionally test, and deliver two (2) MV130X solenoid valves
• Vespel seals shall be replaced with PTFE or equivalent MAPTIS A-rated materials for hypergolic exposure
• Include relevant information from the “as-run” acceptance test procedure for each Valve
• Provide a development to plan for the MFV400 regulator to address recommendation #1 in NESC-TI-20-01535.
• Ship the units to the following address:
Jennifer Gratz NASA Glenn Research Center Room 86-319 21000 Brookpark Road, Cleveland, OH 44135 Desk: 216-433-2720
• Complete order in a timely manner to support NASA testing in the fall of 2026
• Quality requirements shall be per the standard vendor processes
3. Delivery Dates
• Delivery of the solenoid valves with their associated paperwork shall be before October
30, 2026.
• Delivery of the development plan shall be before December 31, 2026.
