About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details a repair and maintenance service for a Belimed Steam sterilizer 11-6-12 HS2 series LST unit located at the USDA ARS Invasive Plant Management Laboratory in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The project requires a Belimed certified technical representative to travel to the site, replace a failed vacuum pump, conduct an annual inspection, and perform preventive maintenance. The contractor must ensure the sterilizer is fully operational by completing a full cycle with a typical debris load, with all additional parts requiring approval from the USDA Contracting Officer.

The work will be performed at 3225 College Avenue, with operating hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on workdays, excluding weekends and federal holidays. The sterilizer services Biocontainment spaces designated as BSL 2 and BSL 3, requiring contractor personnel to be accompanied by IPRL staff when accessing certain areas. The contract includes a one-year repair and maintenance service, with the contractor responsible for supplying the vacuum pump and any necessary parts after obtaining approval from the USDA Contracting Officer assigned to the project.

Statement of Work (SOW) Project: Belimed 11-6-12 HS2 series LST Repairs and 1 year

Maintenance Service Location: 3225 College Ave.

Fort Lauderdale, FL 33314

GENERAL INFORMATION

1.0 Scope of Work: The scope of this project is for Belimed certified technical representative to travel to IPRL in Fort Lauderdale, provide and install a new vacuum pump (with associated gaskets and other parts), and conduct an inspection and annual preventive maintenance service.

2.0 Background: Our Belimed Steam sterilizer 11-6-12 HS2 series LST unit has been inoperable for couple of months, the vacuum pump has failed. Local repair techs have been unable to correct this issue and have suggested we need to have the manufacturer’s techs come in. In the past, serious operational issues like the current one have only been repairable by the factory technicians, in part due to proprietary control systems, design elements, and some parts.

CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS

3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks

Contractor will replace the vacuum pump (part supplied by Contractor), conduct an annual inspection, correct any additional deficiencies, adjust settings (if necessary), and assure that unit is fully operational prior to terminating the service call. Proof of operability will be completion of one full cycle containing a typical debris/trash load from Biocontainment.

Additional parts needed to complete repairs will be acquired by Contractor only after approval by the USDA Contracting Officer assigned to this project.

4.0 Government Furnished: The Belimed unit being serviced (an 11-6-12 HS2 series LST unit, serial number 13268) is located at the USDA ARS Invasive Plant Management Laboratory located at 3225 College Avenue in Davie, Florida. Hours of operation at the IPRL are 8:00a.m. – 5:00p.m. daily on workdays. The facility is closed weekends and Federal holidays. Contractor personnel will need to sign in and out at the main entrance to Building 017 daily. The Belimed unit services Biocontainment spaces designated BSL 2 and BSL 3. Should access be required to portions of the Belimed that are inside Biocontainment spaces, Contractor’s personnel will be accompanied by IPRL staff.
