About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details a greenhouse reglazing project for the USDA Agricultural Research Service at the Prosser Worksite in Washington. The project involves removing and replacing the existing polycarbonate glazing on Greenhouses 102 A-G, which were originally installed in 1992 and 1997 and are now deteriorated, with major cracks and significant yellowing that is blocking natural sunlight and impacting plant research.

The base bid requires the contractor to remove the existing polycarbonate, carefully dispose of materials, and install new 8 mm LEXAN™ THERMOCLEAR™ 15 Softlite Multiwall Polycarbonate sheets across six greenhouses with a total footprint of 6,828 square feet (3,396 ft² for 102 A-B-C and 3,432 ft² for 102 E-F-G). The project must be completed by August 30, 2025, with a 90-day completion window. The contractor will be responsible for obtaining necessary permits, ensuring weather-sealing with new gaskets, and coordinating work to minimize disruption to ongoing research operations. The project will require careful phasing, compliance with federal and local codes, and submission of comprehensive documentation including shop drawings, O&M manuals, and a one-year warranty.
