About this file

This Addendum #1 document modifies the original bidding documents for a roofing replacement project at Thomas J. Anderson High School, managed by Southgate Community Schools in Southgate, Michigan (Project No. T16015.RFG4). The project encompasses approximately 70,215 square feet of roofing work, divided into a base scope covering Roof Areas A, B, C, D, F, and G (54,215 square feet) and alternate scopes for Roof Areas E, H, I, J, K, and L (16,000 square feet). The base scope of work includes demolition and roof preparation, new wood blocking and plywood sheathing, roof insulation installation, new single-ply membrane systems with flashings, sheet metal work, drain replacement, walkway pads, ladder installation (six new ladders with removal of one unsafe ladder), flashing at four exhaust hoods, and a 10' x 10' deck repair allowance. Field verification visits may be arranged by contacting the project representatives, with sign-in required at the main office. The bid due date is Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. local time, with bids remaining open for 60 days after opening. Contractors must be prepared to start work within 14 calendar days of contract execution.

The bid form requires lump sum pricing for separate base scope items and alternate work items, with all pricing including performance and payment bonds. Contractors must provide unit pricing for various deck repairs and replacements, drainage work, wood blocking materials, removal and disposal services, and labor rates for multiple positions at both straight time and overtime rates. The addendum addresses specific technical clarifications regarding tapered insulation systems, obstruction removal, deck openings, interior facility cleanliness during construction, and protection of previously replaced paving and sidewalks. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of the addendum on the bid form to avoid disqualification and must submit supporting documentation including a bid bond or certified check, certificate of insurance, familial disclosure statement, and Iranian Sanctions Act certification. The addendum specifies detailed insulation schedules and membrane configurations for each roof area, with particular attention to Roof Area E, which requires conversion of an upslope drain to an overflow roof drain and base sheet mechanical attachment specifications.
