About this file

This document is a comprehensive technical specification file for the City of Daytona Beach's South Grandview Avenue Watermain Replacement - Phase 2 project. The project involves removing approximately 1,300 linear feet of existing 10-inch Ductile Iron Pipe watermain between Harvey Avenue and International Speedway Boulevard, and replacing all water services, water meters, and meter boxes along the route. The work includes installing new water mains approximately 3 feet west of the existing main, with associated valves, main extensions, and other infrastructure improvements. The project will be competitively bid through an online procurement platform, with a non-mandatory pre-bid conference and a deadline for questions prior to the bid opening.

The technical specifications provide extensive details on materials, installation methods, testing requirements, and quality control standards for the watermain replacement. The project includes multiple bid items covering everything from mobilization and survey/layout to specific pipe installations, valves, fittings, and surface restoration. The City has allocated a $20,000 allowance for maintenance of traffic and requires detailed documentation, including pre-construction video recordings, as-built drawings, and manufacturer certifications. The specifications outline rigorous testing protocols for piping, including hydrostatic pressure tests, leakage tests, and cleaning procedures, with strict requirements for material quality, installation techniques, and final system performance.
