About this file

This is a Sources Sought Questions and Answers document for ACU-2 Alignment and Preventative Maintenance services. The document clarifies key requirements and specifications for potential vendors responding to this federal contract opportunity.

The work is located at Edwards Air Force Base, Building B1030, and requires vendors to obtain VCC and Compound clearance by completing a required form four business days prior to any site visit. The service scope includes annual preventative maintenance consisting of bearing maintenance, component inspection, lubrication, alignment, and operational checks. The motor specifications are identified as a Baldor Reliance Super E Motor (Model M41-0329-2746) with 500 HP, operating at 460 volts, 3565 RPM, and 544 amps. The motor is lubricated with Mobil Polyrex EM and includes bearing specifications 65BC03J30X. Beyond scheduled annual maintenance, vendors must also be prepared to troubleshoot and repair the motor in the event of emergency failure, including bearing and electrical failures. The document indicates this is a single-year service requirement with potential emergency repair obligations beyond the standard preventative maintenance contract scope.
