About this file
This is a Sources Sought Notice issued by the Department of the Army Materiel Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground for market research purposes. The Government is seeking potential sources qualified to supply three pulsed neodymium:yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) lasers and one Aiming Beam Module for alignment. The proposed solicitation number is W911QX26QA056, with a contracting office located at 2800 Powder Mill Road, Building 601, Adelphi, Maryland 20783. The point of contact is Meghan Dumler, Contract Specialist (Meghan.d.dumler.civ@army.mil). Responses are due within 7 days of posting by 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time and should be submitted via email.
The laser systems must meet stringent technical specifications including a tunable energy range from zero to at least 850 millijoules per pulse, pulse width between 5-7 nanoseconds, wavelength of 1,064 nanometers, and 10 Hertz pulse repetition rate with single-shot capability. Additional requirements include beam diameter of 7-12 millimeters, divergence less than 0.5 milliradians, and 2% pulse-to-pulse energy stability over eight hours. The power supply must support 100-240 VAC at 50/60 Hz (1100 VA maximum) with dimensions not exceeding 25" x 25" x 15", and the laser head must not exceed 25" x 10" x 10". The systems must include a remote control unit, software for computer interface, cooling unit with air-to-water heat exchanger, quick installation kit, four replacement water cartridges, and two-year minimum warranty. The contractor must demonstrate prior sales of at least two identical laser systems within the past two years and provide references. The Aiming Beam Module must use a visible class two laser collinear with the main beam and be directly interchangeable (plug-and-play) with all laser systems. Estimated delivery is three months after contract award, with place of performance at 6836 Civil Road, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland 21005-5001. Responses must address capability to meet specifications, business type and small business status, and past performance on relevant projects.
