Section C - Description/Specifications/Statement of Work

STATEMENT OF WORK

HGL-DYNAMICS VIBRATION MONITORING SYSTEM FOR AIRCRAFT ENGINE TESTING IN THE PROPULSION SYSTEMS

EVALUATION FACILITY (PSEF)

BACKGROUND

The instrumentation and data acquisition team of the Propulsion and Power department (ASG4.4.6.5) located at NAS Patuxent River in the Propulsion Systems Evaluation Facility (PSEF) in building 2360 has a requirement for an HGL-Dynamics Vibration Monitoring system. This vibration monitoring system will be used as a portable, quickly adaptable system used in any test cell within Propulsion and Power evaluation facility. PSEF is unique as it tests multi-million U.S Navy aircraft engines and introduce Foreign Object debris as well as other engine degrading conditions that would normally be experienced on aircrafts in the fleet. The HGL-Dynamics system will monitor the health of engines to help identify any potential internal engine failures. It will measure and display strain, frequencies and vibrations the engines produce when performing abnormally. This HGL-Dynamics system would increase vibration-monitoring capability by providing expanded channel availability as well as enhanced posttest data processing options that are currently not available due to an inadequate system. Not having this portable vibration monitoring system would limit testing capability and possible oversight of potential crucial engine health degradation that could affect fleet mission capability.

REQUIREMENT

The HGL-Dynamic vibration monitoring system required for Control Room 116 will meet the following requirements.

- 1 Hummingbird32-1429+BNC: 32 channels with BNC input connectors 14x9 based conditioning.
