Section C - Description/Specifications/Statement of Work
Minimum Specifications
Title: Calibrated Anderometer Electronics
1.0 SCOPE: Precision ball bearings used by the Navy are measured for excessive vibration on the Navy anderometer. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD), Code 617 requires purchase of new calibrated anderometer electronics comprised of Anderon Analyzer, vibration transducer, Anderon calibrator and auxiliary components. These electronics will come calibrated with traceability to a national standard, in turn having traceability to ISO, giving technical credibility to vibration measurements taken on the Navy Anderometer.
This purchase supports development and application of testing and analysis methods applicable to nuclear plant components.
2.0 TASK: The NSWCCD is the responsible Navy activity for vibration-testing ball bearings made to meet MIL-DTL-17931F. Sample lots of bearings must be tested on an Anderometer (three-band vibration measurement) and satisfy specific vibration test requirements in accordance with MIL-DTL-17931F to be accepted by the Navy as noise-tested (NT) bearings. The Division's Anderometer requires a transducer and a three band signal analyzer that measures RMS energy levels in three frequency bands 50 to 300 Hz (Low Band), 300 to 1800 Hz (Middle Band) and 1800 to 10 kHz (High Band) at 1800 rpm. The Navy's Anderometer currently utilizes a digital SKF bearing vibration system consisting of a MEA200 transducer and a three-band measuring system. These electronics are no longer OEM calibrated and no other means exist to establish calibration of existing equipment with traceability to NIST or another national standard. Purchase of new calibrated anderometer electronics and possibility of support by OEM will establish credibility of vibration measurements going forward.
3.0 MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS: Contractor shall provide all anderometer electronics, both hardware and software, required to conduct vibration testing of precision ball bearings. Final output of hardware should comprise a minimum of Anderon readings in Low, Mid and High band (frequencies defined in 2.0).
3.1 The contractor shall provide
