Solicitation 36C78620B0010 Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery
Project 852CM3040 Questions and Answers
1. Q. Note 11 on sheet L-502 states the underdrain is to be surrounded by drainage aggregate and filter fabric. The underdrain shown in detail C2/LG-100 on sheet L-502 indicates the underdrain pipe is to be placed in the drainage aggregate layer, unwrapped. Please clarify if trenching is required below the drainage aggregate to place the pipe and wrap it with 6” min drainage aggregate on top or if wrapping only refers to end row details which are already given.
a. A. A 12” trench and wrapping of the trench is required if the invert elevation, plus 6” of cover min, is below the sub-grade excavation. If the invert elevation is within the aggregate drainage fill layer, which is already wrapped in fabric, no additional fabric is needed.
2. Q. Please clarify the SOW expected under the “Excess Fill Notes” on sheet LG-100. The SOW seems to require hauling away all existing soil from the barn storage pile and replacing it all with a new pile from section 1KK, consisting of an estimated 3,000 CY of soil. Is the intent that all fill beyond the 3,000 CY be disposed of offsite? Is all excess fill to be hauled to the storage barn and the 3,000 CY quantity given in note 4 is a minimum assumption?
a. A. Intent is to dispose of anything over 3000 CY off site.
3. Q. Detail D4/LG-100 on sheet L-503 shows 12” minimum drainage aggregate under crypts at cleanout locations, this differs from the 6” required in all other details. Please confirm all drainage aggregate is 6” minimum.
a. A. Detail should note 6” minimum cover on top of pipe, the 12” overall dimension is not required at this location.
4. Q. I just saw this solicitation pop up and have a question. Can you tell me what contractor and/or supplier provided these services on the last contract?
a. A. This is a new contract.
