About this file
This is a Single Source Justification document for a simplified acquisition by the 355 Contracting Squadron. The contracting activity seeks to procure an HH-60W Front Pilot Windshield under Purchase Request FA487726QAA047, with an estimated contract cost of $37,575.00. This is not a bridge action as defined in the AF Bridge Action Reduction Plan.
The requirement arose from a cracked windshield that has rendered an HH-60W aircraft unable to fly. Due to the critical operational status of the aircraft, timely procurement of the windshield is deemed to be in the government's best interest. The selected vendor, WB Parts, maintains an in-stock windshield with an estimated delivery time of 7-10 days. The contracting squadron contacted multiple vendors including Lockheed Martin, AeroBase Group, ASAP Semi Conductors, and the aircraft manufacturer Sikorsky, all of which quoted lead times exceeding 400 days or one year. Due to these factors and the operational urgency, the contracting officer has determined that only a single source is reasonably available and will sole source this requirement to WB Parts. An intent to sole source will be posted to the GPE SAM.gov.
