About this file

This document is a Sole Source Procurement Information file from the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT), specifically involving the Materials Division's procurement of replacement parts for a Tinius Olsen Rebar Machine Test Universal Load Frame Equipment. The equipment is critical for performing tensile testing on reinforcing steel, steel cable, bolts, direct tension indicators, and cast-iron test bars, and the agency requires specific replacement parts to maintain its operational capabilities.

The procurement is being conducted through a sole source process, with the manufacturer being the exclusive supplier of these replacement parts and not allowing any distributors to sell them. MDOT has taken steps to validate the procurement by publishing an advertisement in a local newspaper, entering a Request for Information (RFIN) into the MAGIC portal, and negotiating directly with the vendor to ensure competitive pricing. Interested parties who wish to object to this sole source procurement can submit a detailed explanation on the Objection to Sole Source Determination (OSS) form and contact MDOT Procurement Division representatives Ashley Harrell or Marvin Grayer at the provided contact information.
