About this file
This is a Sole Source Information document submitted by the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) for the procurement of safety training materials from ATSSA for the Planning Division. The materials are intended for roadway safety training and certification purposes and are essential for daily operational duties. The document does not specify item quantities, response dates, due dates, site visits, bidder meetings, award dates, or contract term information.
The procurement is justified as a sole source purchase because ATSSA is identified as the exclusive provider of these materials and they can only be obtained directly from the manufacturer. MDOT conducted market research to obtain the best possible price, including running an advertisement in a local newspaper, submitting a Request for Information (RFIN) into the MAGIC portal to assess availability and pricing, and negotiating directly with the vendor. The quoted amount is considered reasonable based on the manufacturer's pricing. Individuals or entities wishing to object to this sole source determination must submit a detailed explanation on an Objection to Sole Source Determination (OSS) form to Ashley Harrell, Marvin Grayer, or Angela Bailey at the MDOT Procurement Division, 401 North West Street, Room 5100, Jackson, MS 39201, by telephone at 601.359.7300 or 601.359.7302.
