Service Plan for MicroBeta 2 Instrument Statement of Work

June 8, 2026 Introduction:

The mission of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Intramural Research Program (IRP) is to conduct a program of basic and applied research in the areas of drug abuse and dependence. As part of this effort, the NIDA IRP conducts multidisciplinary research into the mechanism of addiction and brain functions. The Drug Designer Research Unit (DDRU) studies the effects of newly emerging drugs of abuse using molecular, cellular, and whole-animal methods.

Purpose and Objectives:

The NIDA DDRU has a need for a service plan on our Revvity MicroBeta2 instrument.

The service agreement is to prevent too much down time in the event of equipment breakdown and to keep the instrument in proper working order at all times due to the necessity of the instrument for data analysis for in-vitro experiments.

Project Requirements:

The Revvity MicroBeta2 instrument requires a service plan that includes two preventive maintenance visits, parts, travel, labor, and phone support. The PM visit should include mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical check of the system, a comprehensive check-up of the system specifications and operational functions, replacement of worn parts, and software and firmware updates. The preventative maintenance visits need to be performed by a trained engineer and all parts should be genuine Revvity parts.

Period of Performance:

The period of performance shall be one calendar year from date of award.

Contract Type:

Use of a firm fixed price purchase order is anticipated.

Independent Government Cost Estimate:

The total estimated cost to perform the tasks indicated in this statement of work for a twelve-month period of performance is $22288.00.

Acquisition History:

Previous acquisition for this work is PO# 75N95025P00331.

Sole Source Requirement:

Revvity Health Sciences Inc.

68 Elm St.

Hopkinton, MA 01748

(800) 762-4000

The Revvity Microbeta2 instrument must be maintained by Revvity Health Sciences Inc.

and replacement parts and accessories must be compatible with the existing equipment and thus cannot be from any other sources. The Revvity MicroBeta2 instrument is very important piece of equipment to two NIDA sections for analyzing radioactive experimental data. We must continue the maintenance on this instrument to avoid long delays in analyzing data which will ruin experiments and waste a significant amount of federal government money.
