BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

Pea Ridge was the most pivotal Civil War battle west of the Mississippi River and is one of the most intact Civil War battlefields in the United States. The 4,300-acre Pea Ridge National Military Park (PERI) was created by an act of Congress in 1956 to preserve the battlefield of the 1862 Battle of Pea Ridge. It was dedicated as a national park during the nation's Civil War Centennial in 1963.The battlefield is located in northwest Arkansas near the Missouri border in Benton County, 4 miles west of Garfield, Arkansas on U.S. Highway 62.

The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) has determined that proposed improvements to Highway 62 between the towns of Avoca and Gateway in Benton County, Arkansas are necessary to serve the transportation needs of northwest Arkansas to improve traffic flow, safety, and capacity in the project area. This portion of existing Highway 62 has been reconstructed off the Pea Ridge National Military Park (PERI) property. Due the realignment of Highway 62, a new Park Entrance Road has been created off of Highway 62.

PERI is adding two (2) new entrance signs: one sign east of the new Park Entrance Road and one sign west of the new Park Entrance Road. The purpose of this contract is to provide the design, fabrication, and installation of two entrance signs at PERI. Refer to Government Furnished documents for Location Maps.

SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES

In accordance with terms and conditions of the Contract, the Fabrication and Installation (F&I) Contractor shall perform the work of this Request for Quote (RFQ) for the National Park Service (NPS) as described below.
