Part I – The Schedule
SECTION B – Price/Bid Schedule
The contractor shall complete and submit Attachment 2 Bid Schedule as their quote, which shall be valid for a minimum of 60-calendar days.
In accordance with FAR 36.204 Disclosure of the magnitude of construction projects, the magnitude for this project is between: $25,000 and $100,000.
SECTION C – Description/Specifications/Statement of Work
Aztec Ruins National Monument (AZRU) AZRU Cultural Resources Building Repair 4" Cast Iron Sewer Drain for Cultural Resource Bldg.
Statement of Work (SOW)
Date: 03/10/2025 Background:
The Cultural Resources (CR) Building was acquired by Aztec Ruins in 2001 (formerly the Kiva Trading Post cons.1967) houses the main offices for the Cultural Resources Division, there is an addition to the southside of the structure that houses a separate, secured archives & storage room. Over the past year, there have been several reports from staff of slow draining and backups in the sewer system. In early May of 2024, a maintenance work order was placed for a drain backing up, attempts to clear it using a drain auger were unsuccessful. A professional plumbing company was called out, and an inspection camera revealed significant scaling build-up in the four-inch cast iron sewer line underneath the slab foundation, which hindered proper drainage out to the city sewer main. The inspection also revealed that there were some locations with evidence of cracking and root intrastrain into the drain. It was concluded that the line needs cleaning and relining to restore proper drainage.
Objectives:
The primary work of this project includes but is it not limited to: Remove and clean scaling from the interior of the 4” cast iron sewer main. Move the location of the drain cleanout from inside the building to an exterior location and cap over the old cleanout. Re-inspect the sewer main and branching lines to ensure system is fully functional. Seamless Liner Installation: Impeccable placement of approximately 150’ of top-grade liner material for enhanced durability and performance.
Scope:
The project proposes to clean approximately 150 linear feet of cast iron drainpipe using hydro jetting equipment to effectively remove heavy scaling. Following the cleaning process, a seamless, cure-in-place liner will be installed along the entire length of the pipe to enhance its durability and functionality.
Additionally, the project includes relocating the drain clean-out access point, as the current location is situated within a secured room housing sensitive documents and materials that requires special access. Moving the cleanout to the exterior of the building will reduce the chance of harmful gas build up in the isolated room and makes the cleanout easier to access without requiring the need for special permission/clearance.
Upon completion of the work, the contractor will ensure that all branch lines are fully reinstated and operational. A thorough camera inspection and testing of the entire system will be conducted to guarantee optimal performance and prevent future issues. This comprehensive approach aims to enhance the reliability of the sewer system while safeguarding valuable materials within the building.
Specific Work Tasks:
• Clean and remove heavy scaling along 150LF of the cast iron sewer main.
• Install a cure-in-place liner and reinstate all branching lines.
• Remove the old clean-out in the CR Building and move it to the outside of the building.
• Final inspection and verification of system function.
