RE: Solicitation Number SMP10014-R-0001 Health Insurance Coverage for Embassy Employees

1. You have indicated that the current rates are Rs. 10,716 for single employee and Rs. 9,408 for family plan. Is there a reason the family rate is less than the single rate? Or is it the case that the family rate of Rs. 9,408 is applicable to each dependent within a family so that an employee with two dependents would pay:

Single Rate Rs. 10,716 Dependent 1 Rs 9,408 Dependent 2 Rs 9,408 Total Rs 29,532

The total rate above is not correct.

The rates below are correct:

Single employee: Rs. 10,716 Family plan: Rs. 9,408 per person. For example, an employee with one dependent would pay Rs. 18,816 (9408 x2); an employee with two dependents would pay Rs. 28,224 (9408 x3)

2. You have indicated that the maximum annual reimbursement per employee and per dependent is Rs 40,000. The Solicitation indicates the maximum annual reimbursement per patient per contract year is Rs 600,000. Please clarify which maximum annual reimbursement is correct.

The Rs. 40,000 maximum reimbursement per employee and per dependent is for the current contract (2008-2013)

The Rs. 600,000 maximum reimbursement per employee and per dependent is for this new solicitation

3. Section J, Exhibit B of the Solicitation includes “CUMULATIVE HISTORICAL CLAIMS PAID”. Are the amounts shown the total paid during each year? If the amounts shown are in fact cumulative, then is it the case that the total paid claims during 2013 were Rs. 89,118 (Rs 827,408- 738,290) which seems very low.

The total claims paid for 2013 is Rs. 827,408 The total claims paid for 2012 is Rs. 738,290
