SITE VISIT SECURITY REQUIREMENTS
1. COVID 19 Restrictions: All visitors to the NIST Campus are responsible to know and follow all safety guidelines and NIST COVID 19 protocols. NIST COVID 19 protocols can be found at https://www.nist.gov/about-nist/visit/nist-visitor-and-contractor-protocols-mitigatingcovid- Visitors are required to complete a Covid-19 Screening Questionnaire before coming onto campus. The visitor must notify Ranae Armstrong and Don Collie if any question is answered “yes” or “false” on the questionnaire. The NIST campus status page is https://www.nist.gov/campus-status. Check the campus status page to view current community levels for the NIST site; applicable requirements for vaccination attestations or COVID tests will be posted there when they are in effect. At this time the CDC local COVID-19 community level is LOW. The following COVID prevention measure are in effect (put into effect 03/5/22): 1) Masks are optional, 2) The CDC recommends that those not up to date on vaccinations practice social distancing, 3) Everyone, regardless of vaccination status, should practice proper hygiene, including hand washing and disinfecting touched surfaces, and 4) There are no COVID screening testing requirements. Community levels are evaluated weekly. When community levels change, the associated prevention measures change accordingly. Check the campus status page to view current levels and associated prevention measure prior to your visit.
2. Vendors who are planning to attend the site visit shall e-mail their intention to attend to Ranae Armstrong, at ranae.armstrong@nist.gov, not later than 12:00pm on May 11, 2022, with the following information:
a. Company name
b. Names of all individuals attending the site visit
c. Email for each attendee
d. Phone number for each attendee
e. Country of Citizenship of all individuals attending the site visit
For non-US Citizens, the following additional information will be required:
a. Title
b. Employer/Sponsor
c. Address
It is the sole responsibility of each Contractor to register for the site visit. Failure to register will result in individuals being denied access to NIST, and subsequently the site visit.
3. Any visitor bringing a vehicle onto the NIST Campus must present the vehicle’s registration card.
4. Vendors must pick up a Visitor's Badge at the Visitor's Registration Center located at the Main Gate (Gate A, off Bureau Drive) Please ensure all individuals bring photo identification or they will be denied access to the facility. Not all state-issued driver's licenses can be accepted by NIST. Under the REAL ID Act of 2005, federal agencies, including NIST, can only accept REAL ID-compliant state driver’s licenses. NIST currently accepts other forms of federally issued identification in lieu of a state-issued driver's license, including an original passport, passport card, DOD Common Access Card (CAC), Veteran ID, Federal Agency HSPD-12 IDs, Military Dependent ID, Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC), and TSA Trusted Traveler ID. For each non-U.S. citizen visiting the NIST campus, the form NIST-1260 must be fully completed and submitted. The information submitted will be used to conduct a routine background check of that individual, which must be completed before they can enter the NIST campus.
