About this file
This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) from the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. The agency is seeking to acquire a Push-to-Talk Satellite network, developed and managed by SkyBase Communications, that allows public safety users the ability to communicate amongst themselves and with other agencies throughout the State of Florida. The primary FloridaSatNet Channel is monitored by the Florida Division of Emergency Management and can be used by responders to contact the State Emergency Operations Center during or after an emergency. The agency is justifying a single-source acquisition due to the unique and necessary nature of the SkyBase Communications network. The estimated dollar amount for the contract is $100,000 for a term of July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024. The contract will primarily serve the jurisdictions of Leon County and the City of Tallahassee.
The agency has determined that the services can only be provided by the single source of SkyBase Communications and has invited prospective vendors to provide information on their ability to supply the requested commodities or services. If no other vendors can be identified, the agency will proceed with entering into a single-source purchase contract with SkyBase Communications.
