About this file

This document is a Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition (JOFOC) for X-ray Equipment Maintenance Support Services at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The SEC intends to award a new firm-fixed-price purchase order for maintenance, repair, and training services for X-ray machines located at the SEC headquarters in Washington, D.C. and nine regional offices. Smiths Detection is identified as the sole responsible source for these services, as they are the original equipment manufacturer and the sole provider of genuine, warranty-backed replacement parts and certified field service personnel. The total estimated value of the contract is for a five-year period, including a 12-month base year and four one-year options. The SEC will publish a combined synopsis-solicitation on SAM.gov to allow for competition, though Smiths Detection is the only source expected to be able to meet the requirements.
